Quotable Quotes
My girlfriend is playing Dungeons & Dragons online right now. I heard another player over Jeannie’s speakers ask, “Are we gonna sweet-talk this guy or are we gonna kill his ass?”
Really, so much in life comes down to that simple dichotomy, doesn’t it?
You may ponder this while I go to bed to try to shake off a head-cold.

Sir Mortimer Chris: You can’t show you’re resolute without showing you are strong. And you can’t show you’re strong without blowing people up.

WEll- what was Jeannie’s reply? I’m betting she didnt want to sweet talk-lol.

Y’know, I read this last night and today I thought of going all Drizzt Do’Urden on someone’s fat head.
Coincidence?
You decide.

See, I’m more old school.
I’d go all Raistlin Majere on someone’s fat head. All the fun and you get to enjoy them suffering.

Sean and Jerry, I’d respond with a hearty “booyah” if I had any idea what the hell you were talking about.

Sigh, kids these days…..

Jerry, we’re going to HAVE to send Bill a reading list. And we actually ran into Raistlin during a campaign, and our thieves stole Guen during another. It was beautiful, man. Our DM is describing the plunder, “…and there’s a lovely black cat statue.” (Chuck and I look at each other, our girlfriends not realizing the significance.) “You then hear–
Give.
That.
Back.”
I gotta start playing again.

Number of Raistlin websites: 9,670.
Number of Drizzt websites: 12,800.
I rest my scimitar toting black case.
BTW, sorry about all the typos lately.

Well, we all know what the masses go for these days.

Guen is my favorite character. (Catti-brie is my second favorite, she’s human, but she has a great name.)
Guen’s not as devious as I am and she coddles the people too much, but overall, she makes an excellent main character for all those stories. Those others, like Drizzt and Bruenor and Wulfgar are very good supporting players for her.

If any of you DnD fans want to try out the online version, go to http://www.ddo.com You can play free for 10 days, then if you decide to buy the game for $29.95 you get another month free - after that it’s $14.99 per month for a month to month. It’s cheaper per month for longer terms, I’ve just been too lazy to update my account.
I finally got Bill to try a trial, he sort of likes it, but isn’t quite a addicted as I am
If any of you do decide to try it, let us know, Bill and/or I can try to meet up with you!
Oh, be forewarned, downloading and setting up the game may take a while. I got the DVDs and there are tons and tons of updates. Maybe the game includes them if you download it from the site, but I wouldn’t count on being able to set it up in less than an hour.

You’re the one who brought up the links, Jerry. It just so happens I like my white haired heroes to have black skin and lavender eyes.
Jeannie, I’m gonna have to give this SERIOUS thought. All of us in a campaign?
Fantasy will never be the same.

I would love to say I would join in. I’m a D&D fan from way back when. Thing that sucks on my end is that I’m stuck out in the country inbetween all the DSL and Broadband coverage but not in any of it. I’m stuck on dial up.
Thing that really twists the knife is that I’m only 1,500 feet from DSL in three direction. Do you know how hard it is to do online gaming at 30 to 50 dial up connection speeds. I’ll be dead before I know I’m in the game.

Ooh, sorry to hear that Jerry, and not just because of DDO. It sounds very frustrating.
Sean - You can make Drow characters
Not your first one because you have to build up a certain number of “favor” points, but then once you’ve achieved that you can make Drows.
Bill - I will keep trying to get you addicted, beware! Bwahahahaha!

Jeannie, I got all the 2nd edition Drow stuff, the Menzoberranzan box set, everything, but seriously I don’t know that I could really really enjoy playing a Drow. I usually like to do half-elves if I go anywhere near the pointy eared types. I got it more as a block to build on.
Watch it, Bill. I think she might be planning something on you.
