In my final post to my old GoDaddy blog, I told you that registering for this new blog would automatically sign you up to be notified by e-mail of new posts. That’s not quite true. Here’s how it will actually work:

You needn’t register to post in this blog. If you want to receive e-mail notifications of new posts, however, you will have to register. To do that, click on the “Register” link in the “Meta” menu on the right-hand side of the blog. You’ll receive a password via e-mail. You can then log in by clicking in the “Login” link in the “Meta” menu. You’ll be taken to the “Dashboard” screen. Click on the “subscribe” tab and check off any of the blog categories to which you want to subscribe.

If you want to change your profile or your subscription options later, just log in and then click the “Site Admin” link under the “Meta” menu. That’ll take you back to the Dashboard. (You’ll find that some of the Dashboard functions, such as editing the main posts, are disabled. What — you think I’m going to let everyone monkey around with the guts of my blog? )
