Cats in Hiding
We brought two new cats into our home yesterday. Unfortunately, I can’t post any pictures of them yet as they’re still hiding!
We’ve decided to name the new additions to our family Zeke and Zack. They are almost all black, with just a tuft of white on their chests and some white fur on their bellies as well. They are nearly identical to our other cat, Katie. If I can get a picture of them together, I’ll post it. You’ll be amazed by the resemblance.
Unfortunately, Katie has not welcomed these newcomers with open paws so to speak. Jeannie brought Katie home six years ago to cheer up then nine-year-old Albert, who had become lonely and depressed. It worked. Albert and Katie became instant friends and harassed the hell out of each other. She added a few years to Albert’s life, of that I am certain.
Albert, however, is the only cat Katie has ever accepted. She’s been spitting and hissing and growling and, in at least one case, chasing Zeke and Zack. Both of them are hiding as I write this. I hope they come out soon. I want to play with our new cats!

Heh, kinda the reverse of what we got. A couple of years ago, I got Jenn a new cat for her birthday. We walked in with this wide eyed, curious little grey furball named Rikki and Nio, her older cat, lost his mind for about a month. Rikki lived up to his namesake (Rikki-Tikki-Tavi) while Nio hissed, spit and growled at us whenever we tried to pet him, scent sprayed all his favorite places and would hide for a day at a time. There were a few days that I only saw Nio when he came out of hiding for food or water.
Two years later, we have two insane animals that chase each other around the house, wrestle, snooze while pressed together, try and keep the dogs in line and take turns stretching out on my wife’s stomach and lap in attempts to out-cute each other.
