Thank you, Jerry C. I still grieve for Albert, but with each passing day it's a little easier to take comfort in the wonderful memories I have of him.

We're thinking of getting two kittens to add to our family soon. The problem? Our surviving cat, Katie, cannot stand other animals! She loved Albert, but she was introduced to him when she was only a tiny kitten herself. Albert was a sweet, loving creature and welcomed her into the fold. I'm afraid that Katie, on the other hand, may haul off and eat any kittens we bring home!

I'm exaggerating, of course. Still, I think integrating kittens into our family will be... challenging.

Bill, thanks for your condolences. Albert was a cute little guy.

I'd love to see a picture of Obie, by the way!

So Obie chews the buttons on your shirts, eh? Albert used to wake us up by wiping his cold wet nose on our faces. I'd have preferred button-chewing, myself. Still, that was a minor price to pay for all of the joy Albert brought to us.

I have two cats and two dogs. All but one moved in with my wife three years ago. Losing any of them would rip me pieces. It would devastate my wife.

Albert looked like a beautiful creature.

Late in saying it but Jenn and I are deeply sorry for your loss.

Bill & Jeannie, I mentioned on the PAD blog but it bears repeating--so sorry for your loss. He was a cute guy too, he looks almost exactly like my little cat Obie, who wakes me every morning and chews all the buttons on my shirts.

Bill,

I know I've said it at a few other sites, but again, my sympathies and condolences to yourself and Jeannie for this loss.

Thanks for the words of support, Kath.

Tough to say how Katie is doing. She actually seems rather unfazed, although Jeannie thinks the little one is being a bit more clingy than usual.

Katie, as you know, is not nearly as affectionate as Albert was. And aside from Albert, to whom she was introduced when she was just a kitten, she has always regarded other cats as her enemies. But Jeannie and I would like to bring in a new kitten or two at some point. It should be... interesting.
